- Free

What does Base64 to Image do?
Base64 to Image decodes a Base64 string back into an image you can preview and download.
Base64 turns any data into plain letters and digits so it can travel safely in JSON, email, URLs or HTML. It is an encoding, not encryption — anyone can decode it.
What you can use
A Base64 string. A leading data:…;base64, prefix is fine.
How to use Base64 to Image
- Step 1
Paste the Base64 string.
- Step 2
The decoded image appears as a preview.
- Step 3
Download the image file.
Good to know
- Base64 makes data about a third larger: a 30 KB image becomes roughly 40 KB of text.
- Inline only small images (icons, logos under ~10 KB). Big Base64 images slow pages down because they can’t be cached separately.
Your privacy
Your file is opened and processed by your own browser — it is never uploaded. That also means big files use your device’s memory, so very large files can be slow on older phones.

Is Base64 to Image free?
Yes. Base64 to Image is completely free, with no sign-up, no watermark and no daily limit.
Is the data I paste sent to a server?
No. Conversion runs in JavaScript inside this browser tab and nothing you paste is sent or stored. Even so, avoid pasting live passwords, API keys or private customer data into any website.
Why do I get an error?
Almost always the input isn’t quite valid: a missing comma or quote in JSON, an unclosed tag in XML, or a tab in YAML. The error message shows where parsing stopped — fix that spot, or press “Load example” to compare with input that works.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes. It works in any modern browser on Android, iPhone, tablets and computers — nothing to install.
